Mrs. Lahman was born March 15, 1924, in Dayton, Va., and was the daughter of the late Calvin and Florence Beery Heatwole.
She worked in the laundry department at Rockingham Memorial Hospital for 10 years. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Rawley Springs Mennonite Church.
On March 14, 1946, she married Roy H. Lahman, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2010.
Surviving are four children, Mary Grace Mallow and husband, Larry, of Harrisonburg, Dewitt Lahman and wife, Bonnie, of Broadway, Jonas Lahman and wife, Grace, of Weyers Cave, and Nellie Sonifrank and husband, Linden, of Dayton; two brothers, Joseph N. Heatwole of Timberville and Paul S. Heatwole of Dayton; nine grandchildren, Cinde Rodes, Lois Martin, Rebecca Pletcher, Cecil Sonifrank, Dean Sonifrank, Patricia Beery, Grace Glenn, Kendall Lahman and Sherman Lahman; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Ivan Nolt, Robert Mallow, Paul Reed and Peter Hartzler will conduct a funeral service at Bank Mennonite Church Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Bank Cemetery.
The body will be taken to the home at 5814 Gray Squirrel Lane, Dayton, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday and until 4 p.m. on Friday.
The family will receive friends at Bank Mennonite Church Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

SHIPSHEWANA - Derek Devon Lambright, 22, of Shipshewana, died in an auto accident on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.
He was born Oct. 15, 1991, to Amos Jay and Rose Mary (Fry) Lambright.
Survivors include his parents; brothers Daryl Lambright (special friend Isabel Miller) of Winesburg, Ohio, and James Lambright (special friend Marlene Mishler) and Kevin Lambright, at home; sisters Jennifer and Eva Lambright, at home; and grandparents Clarence and Polly Anna Fry of Millersburg and Harvey Lambright of Topeka.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fannie Lambright; and sister, Carolyn Sue Lambright.
Derek was employed at Keystone RV in Goshen.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, and all day Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at the family home, 4915 N. 450 W. Shipshewana. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 26, 2013, at the Jerry Troyer home, 4795 N. 450 W. Shipshewana. Bishop Beachy and the home ministers will conduct services. Burial will be in Honeyville Cemetery, Topeka.

MIDDLEBURY - Infant Jonathan E. Lambright, of Middlebury, died at 10:36 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
He was born at 4:37 a.m. on Nov. 16, 2013, to Ernest and Rebecca (Miller) Lambright.
Survivors in addition to his parents include four sisters, Lorene (Marion) Bontrager of Shipshewana and JoAnn, Lisa, and Grace Lambright, all of Middlebury; five brothers, Bryan, Aaron, Josiah, Benji, and Adam Lambright, all of Middlebury; one nephew, Lucas Paul Bontrager; grandparents Leo and Lorene Miller; and stepgrandmother Mary Katherine Lambright.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Lambright Jr., and grandmother, Esther Lambright.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the 2 p.m. funeral service, Monday, Nov. 18, at the Ernest Lambright residence, 10276 C.R. 18, Middlebury. Burial will be in Bontrager-Yoder Cemetery, Middlebury. Miller-Stewart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

TOPEKA - Menno J. Lambright, 87, of Topeka, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at home.
He was born June 5, 1926, in his current home to the late John V. and Ada Mae (Lehman) Lambright. On Oct. 28, 1947, in Topeka, he married Fanny Mae Schrock.
Survivors include his wife; children Elsie Schrock and Richard (Mary) Lambright, both of Shipshewana, Mary Alice (Manas) Lehman and Cletus (Lorine) Lambright, both of Topeka, and Vernon (Kathryn) Lambright of Wolcottville; son-in-law Larry Yoder of Millersburg; 36 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and brother Mahlon Lambright of Sonora, Ky..
He was predeceased by a daughter, Ruby Yoder; four infant grandchildren; three brothers; and four sisters.
He was a farmer, carpenter and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, and all day Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the family home, 6330 W. 100 S., Topeka. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, also at the family home. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Shipshewana.

WOLCOTTVILLE - Wilma Lambright, 84, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, in her home.
She was born in LaGrange County to Samuel J. and Fanny I. (Schrock) Bontrager.
She married Daniel J. Lambright on Nov. 30, 1948, in LaGrange County. He died April 3, 2008.
Surviving are children Alvin Lee (Marcia) Lambright, Frieda (Christy) Mast, Nettie Sue (DeWayne) Miller, Ruby Ellen (Devon) Miller, Joas D. (Marsha) Lambright, Irene (Ezra) Bontrager, Mary Anna (Marvin) Schwartz, Fanny Marie (William) Yoder, Ada Mae (Leroy) Miller and Naomi (Mervin) Lehman of Shipshewana; 66 grandchildren; 158 great-grandchildren; eight siblings; and two brothers-in-law.
She was predeceased by son Perry Jay Lambright; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three siblings; two brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
Visitation will be all day Saturday, May 25, at the Joas Lambright residence, 7735 S. 075 W., Wolcottville.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 26, at the Mervin Bontrager residence, 821 W. 1200 N-57, Wolcottville.
Burial will be in Clearspring Cemetery, Topeka.

Born in Brecknock Twp., Lancaster Co., on August 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Allen G. and Katie H. Good Weber. She was a member of the Dohner Mennonite Church, N. Annville Twp., Lebanon Co. For 25 years she was involved in the inner-city mission work at the Oxford Circle Mennonite Church, Philadelphia. She was also instrumental in the establishment of a mission work in the Philippine Islands. For 16 years she was a teacher at the Faith Hill Christian School in Crockett, KY and the Berean Christian Day School, Newville, PA.
She is survived by her step-sons J. Marvin (Betty Ann) Landis of Liverpool and James R. (Ruth) Landis of Jonestown; step-daughters Mary Ann (Peter) Zucconi of Orrstown and Nancy E. (James) Witmer of Spring Grove; her adopted-in-love daughter Carol R. (Clyde) Reinford of Crockett, KY and their 6 children and 32 great grandchildren; brother Elmer H. (Orpha) Weber of Wakefield; sister Mabel E. Weber of Shillington; 16 step-grandchildren and 32 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers Jacob & Edward Weber, a sister Sarah E. Weber and grandsons Aaron Landis and Jayden Reinford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at 10 AM at the Dohner Mennonite Church. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

It was 62 years ago he married Esther W. Alderfer on Sept. 2, 1950 in Souderton, Pa. As newlyweds, they served three months in voluntary service.
Survived by his wife Esther and five children, Steve (Emily) and Mike (Jan), both of Goshen, Flo (Larry) Shetler of Kalispell, Mont., John (Sally)Landis of Pipersville, Pa. and Jayne (Chuck) Eppley of Harleysville, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Abram, Betty, Kass, Doris, Mary, Ruth and Jim.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Emma, Curt, Elias Jr., and Susan.

Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Elnora Metzler Hershey. Verna was a member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, played piano, and was active in the church sewing circle where she served in the past as the president. She was involved at Tel Hai where she played piano for the chapel and quilted. Verna enjoyed singing, cooking and making meals for others, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had the gift of hospitality and had a contagious smile.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 6 children: Mary Ellen, wife of Harold M. Groff of Gap, Naomi, wife of Rudy Byler of Ozark, AR, Vida J. Landis of Coatesville, Ruthie, wife of Alan Miller of York, Kenneth H. Landis of Ephrata, Herb Landis, husband of Karen Kauffman of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and 2 siblings: Lois Yoder of Belleville, and John L., husband of Helen Herr Hershey of Paradise.

Landis, Verna M. Hershey, age 88, of Tel Hai, Honey Brook, PA formerly of Coatesville, PA died December 25, 2013 at Brandywine Hospital. She was born in Paradise, PA to Clarence L. and Elnora Metzler Hershey. She was the wife of Elvin B. Landis with whom she celebrated 68 years of marriage on December 15th. Verna was a member of Parkesburg Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, played piano, and was active in the church sewing circle where she served in the past as the president. She was a member of Millwood Mennonite Church of Gap, PA. She quilted 11 years and quilted a quilt for all of her 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

LAGRANGE - The Rev. J. Paul Lauver, 90, died peacefully at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange at 7:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, going home to be with his Heavenly Father.
He was born Jan. 12, 1923, in Carlos Casares, Argentina, son of missionaries William and Florence (Beiler) Lauver. On Oct. 14, 1945, he married Lois M. Swihart.
She survives, as do his children, Paul (Marilyn) Lauver of Wolcottville, John (Patti) Lauver of Columbia, S.C., David (Pam) Lauver of Jupiter, Fla., Maggie Glaser of Carmel; daughter-in-law Jan Lauver; 10 grandchildren; and sister Mary Lou (Lester) Blank.
He was preceded in death by his children, James E. Lauver and Ann McMahon, and siblings Lois Lauver, Glen Lauver and Elton Lauver.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at Shore Mennonite Church, 7235 W - 100 N, Shipshewana, with Pastors Ron and Char Roth officiating. Burial will follow in Brighton Cemetery, Howe.

Rev. J. Paul Lauver, 90, died peacefully at Miller's Merry Manor in LaGrange around 7:35 pm on Thursday October 10, 2013, going home to be with his Heavenly Father.
He was born on January 12, 1923 in Carlos Casares, Argentina, son of Missionaries William and Florence (Beiler) Lauver. On October 14, 1945, he married Lois M. Swihart. On October 14, 2013 they would have celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary. Lois survives in LaGrange.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Paul (Marilyn) Lauver of Wolcottville, John (Patti) Lauver of Columbia, SC, David (Pam) Lauver of Jupiter, FL, Maggie Glaser of Carmel, IN, and daughter-in-law Jan Lauver of Shipshewana. He was preceded in death by his son, James E. Lauver and his daughter, Ann (Lauver) McMahon.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Joel Lauver of Nashville, TN, Lindsay Lauver (Nathan Warrick) of Bloomington, IN, Reed Lauver of Charleston, SC, Amy Lauver of Columbia, SC, Jessie (Mike) Whitten of Zionsville, Jenny Lauver of Shipshewana, Jacob Paul Lauver of Gainesville, FL, Weston (Cayleigh) Lauver of Crystal River, FL, Kira Lauver of Jupiter, FL, and Alex Glaser of Carmel. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Molly Glaser.
He is also survived by his sister Mary Lou (Lester) Blank of Gap, PA.He was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Lauver and his brothers, Glen Lauver and Elton Lauver.
He grew up in Argentina until the age of 15, when he returned to the States to attend High School in Johnstown, PA. He attended Eastern Mennonite College, and then graduated from Goshen College in 1945 with a Degree in Theology. He later completed a Master's Degree in Spanish from St. Francis University, Ft. Wayne. While studying for his Theology degree, he began his lifelong calling to the Gospel Ministry spending many weekends serving Spanish Churches in Archbold, OH and Chicago.
He was ordained as a minister with the Mennonite Church on November 4, 1945 in Belleville, PA, and then served as the first missionaries in Puerto Rico under the Mennonite Board of Missions for 12 years from 1945 to 1957. He served as Pastor at the Mennonite Church in La Plata and Rabanal. He also was a church planter, starting churches in Pulguillas, Cayey and Guavate. During his years in Puerto Rico, he also was an announcer for the "Luz y Verdad" (Light & Truth) radio ministry, and sang in a men's quartet on the radio broadcast.
In 1957, he and Lois and their four young children returned to the States to care for Lois' mother, Mary E. Swihart. Paul was soon called to be the Pastor of the Marion Mennonite Church in Howe, where he then served as Pastor for over 27 years from 1957 until his retirement from formal ministry in 1985. In addition to his pastoral duties, he taught Spanish and English at East Springfield, Shipshewana, and Westview High School, and also worked as a Custodian at Howe Military School after retirement from teaching and the ministry.
He lived a life of love and steadfast faith, for God, his wife & family, and for Christ's Church. He was known as a prayer warrior and liked to walk in nature while he prayed and meditated on scriptures on 3X5 cards. His strong voice gave praise and glory to God through songs, prayer, preaching and teaching.

Leatherman, Della Meyers, 83 died June 15, 2013. She was born in Bedminster Twp., Bucks Co., PA to the late Joseph and Edna Meyers. She was the wife of the late Richard D. Leatherman. She was a life-long member of the Deep Run Mennonite Church East where she met her husband Richard who she married in 1949.
Survived by her son, R. Dale Leatherman and Natalie Mucciolo of Dublin, PA as well as her three grandsons, Jacob Leatherman of Brea CA and Cody and Griffin Leatherman of Harleysville, PA. In addition to her immediate family, Della is survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, Margaret Leatherman of Souderton, Clayton Myers of Pipersville, Wilson Leatherman of Sellersville, Reda and Harold Litzenberger of Quakertown, Marie and Ernie Hange of Blooming Glen, Della Gross of Perkasie, Mary Leatherman of Bedminster, Charlotte Meyers of Sellersville and Belle Meyers of Souderton.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Mennonite Church located at 571 Tom Johnson Road, Aroda, Va. The funeral service will be held on April 5, 2013, at Oak Grove Mennonite Church at 10 a.m. Bertha Lehman accepted Christ as her personal Savior in her youth and strived to fulfill her Christian life till death.
She was born to Paul and Carrie (Horst) Lehman on Sept. 4, 1936*, at Salem, Ohio. After graduating from high school, she pursued a nursing career and received her degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. In her nursing career, she was employed by Wooster Community Hospital in Wooster, Ohio, later in fulfilling God's calling she was led to set her roots in Madison County. She placed her Church membership at Oak Grove Mennonite Church, where she acquired a deep love for her church and faithfully served until her death. She had previously worked at Mount View Nursing Home, Culpeper Regional Hospital, and was employed at Child Help in Lignum, Va., at the time of her death. In addition to employment, she reached out to her community with Food Bank, and touched many lives in her church, by opening her home to many young people and sharing of her monetary goods where she had opportunity.
Leaved to mourn her absence are one sister, Clara and her husband, Alvin Nussbuam, of Apple Creek, Ohio; and three brothers, Roy Lehman and wife, Mary Susan, of Cambridge Spring, Pa., Melvin Lehman and wife, Jeanette, of New Waterford, Ohio, and Elmer Lehman and wife, Pamela, of Salem, Ohio. Also grieving her parting are the Vernon and Mary Peachey family and sons, Justin and Naomi Peachey, Jordon and Sarah Peachey and Julian and all of Madison County, who became her family through loyality. Also, are Lidia and Rebecca Jara of whom she motherly loved and had in her home. Also surviving are 13 nieces and nephews, 14 stepnieces and nephews and 42 great-nieces and nephews.
The Lehmans and the Vernon Peachey family wish to extend their heart felt thanks to Oak Grove Mennonite Church that has been supportive in their prayers, deeds of kindness through the years and her illness and death. SHIPSHEWANA - Freeman M. Lehman, 75, of Shipshewana, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013.
He was born Jan. 8, 1938, to the late Mahlon J. and Annie (Mast) Lehman.
On Feb. 6, 1958, he married Susie Bontrager. She survives.
Survivors include his children, Katie Fern (Mervin) Miller, Mary Esther (Ernest) Beechy, and Daniel (Edna), Floyd (LeEtta), Wilbur (Jennifer), Freeman Jr. (Mary Sue), Joas (Mary Sue) and Norman F. Lehman; 47 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Daniel) Yoder, Arlene (Perry) and Ida Mae (Lloyd) Miller; and three brothers, Orva (Mary), Ernest (Ellen) and LeRoy (Joanne) Lehman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ernest F. Lehman, and two great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer, carpenter and a member of Old Order Amish Church.

Mercie D. Lehman, age 87, of Louisville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 1, 2013. She was born June 9, 1925 in Orville, Ohio to the late Orie and Goldie (Byler) Conrad. She was a member of the Beech Mennonite Church in Louisville. Mercie was a retired school teacher, having taught at both Plain Local and Wayne County Elementary Schools.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Warren D. Miller; her 2nd husband, Ervin Linder and her 3rd husband, Willis Lehman; two sisters, Eileen Gingerich and Marvel Schrock; one brother, Lester Conrad.
Mercie is survived two daughters, Diane Preusser and Connie Fenstermaker, both of Canton; two sons, Darrell Miller of Louisville, Doug (Ann) Miller of North Canton; one sister, Twila (Chester) Lehman of Smithville; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Kaitlin Miller; numerous step children; step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. TOPEKA - Perry Jay Lehman, 80 of Topeka, died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at home.
He was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Topeka to the late Erwin J. and Polly (Miller) Lehman. He married Ida Mae Bontrager on Nov. 23, 1961.
His wife; children Mary Ruth (Stewart) Hochstetler, Velda (Matt) Eash, Marion (Deb) Lehman and LaVerne (Mary) Lehman, all of Goshen, Carolyn (Morris) Yoder and Wilbur "Willie" (Deb) Lehman, both of Nappanee, Norma (Arlin) Miller of Middlebury, Marlin (Norma) Lehman of Millersburg, Ervin (Ruth) Lehman and Maynard and Leon Lehman, both of Shipshewana; 39 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters Katie (Noah) Miller, Ella (Ora) Miller and Elsie (Orva) Bontrager of Shipshewana; and aunt Ella Miller survive.
A grandson and a great-grandson preceded him in death.

GOSHEN - Wilma E. (Ewert) Leichty, 88, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at The Gables (Greencroft Healthcare) in Goshen.
She was born March 23, 1925, in Hillsboro, Kan., to Henry S. and Carrie (Nickel) Ewert.
After her father completed studies at Tabor College, the family moved back to Mountain Lake, Minn., where she lived most of her childhood years. Following her mother's death, when Wilma was 3, she grew up with a beloved stepmother, Emma (Boese) Ewert.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Alden Ewert.
Surviving are two sisters, Annette Dick of Mountain Lake and Elinor Kliewer of Hillsboro; one brother and his spouse, Calvin and Marian Ewert of Lodi, Calif.; and one sister-in-law, Wilma Ewert of Reedley, Calif.
Wilma grew up and became a follower of Christ in the Mennonite Brethren Church. Following studies at Tabor College, she took nurses training at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kan. While working at the hospital, she met Civilian Public Service worker Clarence Leichty. Following the war, they each decided to finish their bachelor's degrees at Goshen College, where she graduated with a BSN in 1949. They were married Aug. 23, 1949, in Reedley. Clarence preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2012.
Settling in Elkhart, Wilma and Clarence raised three children, all of whom survive along with their spouses: Paul and Twila Leichty of Goshen, Bruce and Kathy Leichty of Escondido, Calif., and Cheryl and Ronald Blaum of Goshen. Five grandchildren and one spouse also survive: Nathan Leichty of Middlebury, Renita and Matthew Marjan of Lombard, Ill., Julian Leichty of Sacramento, Calif., John Leichty of Pasadena, Calif., and Timothy Blaum of Goshen.
Wilma worked as a receptionist and administrative assistant at Oaklawn Psychiatric Center and Youth Services Bureau in Elkhart during the 1960s and 1970s. She was an active member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart and also served on the boards of HOME (Home Ownership Means Equality) and Church Community Services. As neighbors to their denominational seminary (AMBS), she and Clarence enjoyed extending hospitality to students and guests.
Following Clarence's retirement as an elementary school administrator, the couple moved to Goshen and became members of College Mennonite Church, where visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013. According to Wilma's wishes, her body will be cremated and her ashes scattered in College Church Memorial Garden.

Surviving are five children: Wayne (Diane) Litwiller, Sandra (Rick) Morris, Janice (Darrell) Eck, Nancy (Eddie) Cunningham and Edward (Rosie) Litwiller, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
Elmer was a lifelong farmer in the Hopedale-Minier area and also was involved with building several houses in Hopedale. He was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church in Hopedale.

GOSHEN - Fred Litwiller, 72, passed away Thurday afternoon, June 6, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care.
Fred lived life to the fullest even during his 11 years with multiple myeloma.
He was born June 25, 1940, in Hopedale, Ill., to Oliver and Vera (Slabaugh) Litwiller.
He married Faye Newcomer Aug. 19, 1962, in Wadsworth, Ohio.
He leaves behind his wife; children Vonda (Ref Fransen) Litwiller of Goshen, Laura (Mark Tenekjian) Litwiller of Northampton, Mass., and Matt (Lisa) Litwiller of New Paris; grandchildren Ethan, Zefram, Clayton, Jillian and Bridget; and brothers John (Joan) and Kenneth (Shirley) Litwiller, both of Minier, Ill.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Fred graduated from Minier High School in 1958, Goshen College in 1962 and later earned a master's degree in counseling from Illinois State. He started his professional life in Hesston, Kan., as a coach for all sports teams for three years. He also worked three years as a health and safety manager for King Construction, Hesston. He came to Goshen as a coach and eventually moved into career counseling at Goshen College, retiring in 2000.
Following retirement, Fred and Faye lived and worked at Little Eden Camp for two years.
Fred cherished his church, family and friends. His hobbies included camping, biking, fishing, tennis, golf and woodworking.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2013, at College Mennonite Church, where an 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, memorial service will be, officiated by Phil Waite and Rose Widmer.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jubilee Fund at College Mennonite Church, Little Eden Camp or Maple Leaf Athletic Club.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Litwiller, Fred, 72, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., Indiana died June 6, 2013 at the same place. He was born June 25, 1940 at Hopedale, Ill. to Oliver and Vera (Slabaugh) Litwiller. On August 19, 1962 at Wadsworth, Ohio he was married to Faye Newcomer, who survives.

Surviving are one son, William E. (Carol) Litwiller; four daughters, Rita Litwiller, Karen (John) Yoder, Rosalie (Richard Starcevich) Semic and Roberta (Roger) Bean; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

Marguerite worked at Zimmerman Implement in Eureka prior to her marriage. She then became a homemaker until starting work at Hopedale Medical Complex in 1967 until her retirement in 1987. She was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church and volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Eureka. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and making Sunday dinners for her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Donna and husband, Patrick Booton; son, Noel Livengood and wife, Roxanne Livengood; and daughter, Ann and husband, Dennis Critchfield; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Lenhart.
Preceded in death by his second wife, Florence Irene (Eash) Thomas Bough Livengood, three sisters, Marie Llewellyn, Pearl Lantz, and Clara Lichty, and a brother, Clayton Livengood.

She was an active, life-long member of Bossler Mennonite Church, Elizabethtown, having served on the Stewardship and 200th Anniversary Committees for the church, as well as functioning as the Mennonite Mutual Aid representative for the church. Rebecca's compassionate heart served many through numerous overseas medical mission trips, including two extended stays at Jamama Hospital in Somalia, sponsored by Mennonite Board of Missions. She also spent working vacations with the Christian Medical Society in Honduras, Liberia, Singapore, Taiwan, Guatemala, Nepal, and India from 1974-1982
Rebecca was a world traveler and when asked one time where all she has traveled, she replied, "it would be easier to tell you where I haven't been than to say where I have been." Her travels included visiting the 550-year-old Langenegger ancestral farm in Langau, Switzerland, where her ancestors are still living. She visited Japan, Australia, Scandanavia and Israel.
She is survived by sister, Lois Jean Kreider, and a brother, J. Wilmer Longenecker, Rebecca. She was also aunt to four generations of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Mae Hiestand; two brothers, J Howard Longenecker and Phares B. Longenecker, Jr.; one nephew, Leslie Kreider; and one niece, Carol Kreider Leigh.
The funeral service was December 30, 2013 at Bossler Mennonite Church, Elizabethtown with Pastor Fred Garber and the Rev. Wilmer Longenecker officiating. Interment was in the adjoining Bossler Cemetery.

Darvin R. Luginbuhl, 91, of Bluffton died the morning of April 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born December 29, 1921 in Bluffton to William and Fannie Steiner Luginbuhl. On May 26, 1946 he married Evelyn Johnson and she survives.
Darvin Luginbuhl taught art in the Wapakoneta Public Schools for eight years after his graduation from then Bluffton College in 1946. During this time, he completed a Master's Degree in Art Education, attending Ohio State University in the summers. He returned to Bluffton in 1954 and taught art in the schools there until 1959, when he joined the faculty at Bluffton College. He served in the Bluffton Art Department 26 years before his retirement in 1984. He made art in a variety of media during and after his teaching career, with ceramic sculpture emerging as his most potent expressive voice. He was an active exhibitor in art exhibitions in Ohio. He was an active member of First Mennonite Church throughout his life, serving the church in many capacities. For a number of years he was crafts director at Camp Friedenswald in Cassapolis, MI. For more than 25 years, he made and sold pottery at Mennonite Relief Sales in Kidron, OH; Goshen, IN; and, Peoria, IL. He served on the board of the Swiss Historical Society. He was an avid Gardener throughout his life, and a member of the Garden Club. Photography was a lifelong avocation. He also cultivated interests in writing and storytelling.
Also surviving are two sons, Greg (Karen) Luginbuhl of Bluffton, Bill Luginbuhl of Chicago, five grandchildren, Alison (Kevin) King of Bluffton, Ben, Ashley, Kristin and Kathryn Luginbuhl all of Portland OR, and a great granddaughter, Milena King.
A sister, Marcille Habegger, preceded him in death.
A memorial services will begin at 11 am Friday at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Rev. Steven J. Yoder and Rev. Louise Wideman will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton prior to the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11 am Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Luginbuhl Family Scholarship at Bluffton University or First Mennonite Church.

Esther P. Luginbuhl
January 30, 1921 - November 28, 2013
Esther P. Luginbuhl, 92, died at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton on November 28, 2013. She was born January 30, 1921 in Mount Blanchard to George and Naomi Crawford Shoemaker, who preceded her in death. On May 16, 1943 she married Delbert Luginbuhl who preceded her in death on October 22, 1987.
Mrs. Luginbuhl graduated from Pandora High School in 1939. She worked in a variety of places during the years, including Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton University, Urich's IGA, and Triplett Corporation. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, and especially spending time with family. She was an excellent cook and always had an endless supply of chocolate cookies on hand.
Living family include two daughters, Diane (Jim) Bleam of Macungie, Pennsylvania; Jane (Jim) Weaver of Bluffton; two sons, Roger (Pattie) Luginbuhl and Ron (Cindy) Luginbuhl both of Bluffton; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Ruth) Shoemaker of Pandora and a sister, Marilyn (John) Beckler of Bluffton.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Shoemaker and a sister, Ruth Williams.
Services will begin at 11 am Monday, December 2, at First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. Pastors Louise Wideman and Steven J. Yoder will officiate. Private burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery preceded the services. Friends may call from 2-6 pm Sunday, December 1, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Memorial contributions may be made to First Mennonite Church or Mennonite Memorial Home.
